The Sicilian painter and draftsman Giacinto Calandrucci, who was active in Rome, died in Palermo on 22 February 1707 without leaving a testament. His estate is primarily known through two archival documents held at the Archivio di Stato di Roma, one dating from 14 November 1710, of which a copy exists as well at the Archivio Capitolino di Roma, and another dating from 22 October 1737. Both attest to how the painter's estate was handled by the Calandrucci family. The present manuscript relates primarily in content to that of 1737, which documents how two nephews and a niece of Giacinto liquidated the estate, thereby providing a detailed assessment of the values of the estate's paintings, drawings, engravings, plaster casts, books and furniture. Leaves 109-129 however relate to the inheritance measures taken in 1708 by Giacinto's two sisters and his brother, Giuseppa, Rosalia and Domenico, who were the painter's heirs.
